Arsene Wenger insists he will do everything within his power to keep his best players from walking away from Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners boss is determined to avoid a repeat of last summer when Alexander Hleb and Mathieu Flamini quit the club to join sides on the continent.
Emmanuel Adebayor and Cesc Fabregas have both been linked with moves away from North London, but the Frenchman says this summer is all about strengthening.
Wenger says he has identified the targets he believes can help take Arsenal to the next level and he hopes to have them in place before the start of pre-season.
“We lost Hleb and Flamini last summer and we have had to rebuild,” he said.
“But we have done that now and the future looks bright. We don’t want to have to rebuild again, so I want to keep all the players together for next season. I don’t want to lose anyone.
“I want to add to the squad and have identified one or two targets. But identifying players and buying them are two different things.
“Ideally I would like to bring everybody in before we start back in pre-season training in July. I don’t want to leave it until the end of August.”
