Mellberg lands in Greece

  Juventus defender Olof Mellberg is currently in Athens finalising his transfer to Olympiakos, according to reports.

  The former Aston Villa stopper is expected to be unveiled as a new Olympiakos player in the next 48 hours.

  According to Greek paper Sportday, Mellberg will sign a three-year contract at the Karaiskakis Stadium and Juve will receive €2.5million (£2.2m).

  The Sweden international left Villa last summer for Juventus, but, as Fabio Cannavaro has now returned to the Turin club, Mellberg is thought to be keen to guarantee himself first-team football.
