  Pele: I was Liverpool fan - now it's Man Utd for me

  Pele says he used to support Liverpool - but now is a fan of Manchester United!

  And the former Brazil striker, who Manchester United tried to sign in the Sixties, believes the Barclays Premier League is the best spectacle in the world.

  "I have always liked English teams," the 68-year-old told Sport magazine. "In the 1970s ad 80s I was a Liverpool fan. I don't know why especially, perhaps because they were the top team back then.

  "In the last 10 or 15 years I have enjoyed following Manchester United the most. They play the game the right way and, in Brazil, Manchester United are far and away the most popular team.

  "The Premier League is the most exciting league to watch in the world, there's no doubt about that at all."

  hey I supported Man Utd thru and thru since the 80s and didnt wavered when they were not doing well under ron atkinson, only winning the fa cups in 1983 and 1985.

  lol i stop supporting manutd since SAF decided to throw Beckham the boot..

  and support chelsea instead even roman came in. little did i even expect them to be able to win a league! lol just hope they go into europe i happy liao

  cos u adored beckham and you left because fergie gave him a flying boot? good for you, anyone has the right to switch his allegiance and should not be criticised, as its not a divine right to expect anyone to support a club from birth to cradle.
