Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has decided to dispense with the services of agent Dennis Lachter, after coming to the conclusion that their business partnership was no longer working.
The Russian international joined the Emirates Stadium outfit from Zenit St Petersburg at the beginning of February for £15 million, and enjoyed an explosive start to his Premier League career, netting six league goals in 12 appearances, including four against Liverpool at Anfield.
However, the diminutive playmaker's relationship with Lachter is believed to have broken down due to the latter's decision to conduct his business from Israel following the birth of his son.
Arshavin has cited 'operational problems' as a major reason behind his choice to go it alone.
"Recently I sent a formal letter to Dennis Lachter, which said that I do not want him to continue to represent me and that I will act on my own behalf," said the Gunners forward in a statement.
"This is no way associated with my Arsenal contract. On the contrary, I want to express my deep gratitude for Lachter's help in moving to the English club.
"But now I am having operational problems and Dennis, who has a newborn son, lives in Israel and cannot always be close to me, so it is easier to solve all these problems myself."
