Tyrone Mears believes visiting Burnley will be a shock for Premiership rivals.
The new Burnley fullback said: “When I came here and got into the changing rooms, we had to pack so many players in to a small space, and that was with Preston! So I can imagine the big clubs in the Premier League coming here aren’t going to fancy it at all. That can only work in our favour.
“I’m not under any illusions, I think they’re behind a little bit to other clubs in terms of facilities. But they’ve got a young manager with a growing reputation, a young squad that’s growing in reputation as well, and a chance to play in the Premier League, so everything’s going for the club.
“I’m sure the stadium and training ground will all come with the rewards on the pitch.
“But I’ve not signed here because of the stadium or training ground; it’s a chance to play and play regular football.”
