A Gunners insider said: "Nobody at Arsenal wants to see Fabregas go but there comes a point when the money is too good to turn down.
"If Arsenal receive a bid in the region of £40m there will be an enormous pressure to sell."
Emirates boss Arsene Wenger is desperate for funds to strengthen his squad in order to mount a credible title challenge.
The loss of midfielder Fabregas, 22, would seem like a hammer blow but the Gunners went on a 20-game unbeaten run in the league when he was crocked last season.
Real and Barcelona are in the hunt for the Spaniard and appear certain to bid for him. Barca president Joan Laporta signalled his intention to make an offer last week.
Laporta publicly invited the Arsenal skipper to declare his desire to return to his boyhood club. And he said: "Cesc has Barcelona in his DNA and I think that one day he should play for Barca.
"We all like him very much - the technical director, the manager, as well as me. He's always been in our thoughts."
Fabregas openly flirted with both clubs last week as he branded Arsenal "impotent" for failing to win silverware.
He said: "The absence of titles at Arsenal is what angers me the most. Cristiano Ronaldo said he's leaving Manchester United because he had nothing else to win. For me right now it is the exact opposite, seeing the impotence."
Fabregas went further and said his Catalan family would back him if he went to the Bernabeu. He added: "Of course my family would understand because they love me, they want me to be happy. They'd support me whichever club I joined."
After SunSport published his words, Fab issued a statement on the Arsenal website, reiterating his desire to win trophies with the Gunners.
why not?
seem like Wenger need moneys.... y dun u sell that TOGO player rather than him =.=
40m is a tad too low, as he is only 21. in a few years time if he reach his potential, 40m is like peanuts.
if he goes, then Arsenal can kiss goodbye to its title & cl aspirations. Also it will be known as a selling club.
40million is good money considering he cost almost nothing when he come to arsenal.
arsenal should ask for a player exchange + $$. yaya toure. iniesta, xavi. ![]()
you dun sell your best players. if you do, you are a selling club leh

yaya toure, inesta, xavi lol all three?
of cos barcelona wont entertain suh requests lar haha
maybe toure, but iniesta and xavi are barcelona midfield kingpins, unless bids of 100m are lodged. Messi, probably 200m to tempt barcelona into selling.
MU, U got 40m.. Hee hee..
i swear i will stop supporting arsenal if they sell fabregas

no offense meant, but putting a price on him, and a 40M which is peanuts in the transfer market is not exactly a healthy sign for you..
i would expect a price tag of at least close to ronaldo for fabregas.... dont know what the fuck is arsenal doing... even if they dun sell at all and just buy one or 2 defenders... it would be a superb team already
febregas may hand in transfer request and head back to spain, homesick and chances to win trophies w Barcelona.
I believe if Barcelona were to come in for him, he would agree to the move
