  Man Utd ready to meet Real Madrid asking price for Huntelaar

  Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to offer £20 million for Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

  The Sun says Ferguson had his eye on the Dutchman before he joined the La Liga side from Ajax in January.

  But Huntelaar, 25, has struggled to make an impact after scoring 113 goals in 136 games in Holland.

  He failed to make Real's Champions League squad.

  And he has fallen further down the pecking order following the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema.

  Now Fergie, who had the player scouted all last year, is ready to make a new bid to land him after losing out on Benzema.

  United will have to match the £20m Madrid paid for the hitman.

  An Old Trafford source said: "Huntelaar is somebody we have known about for a good while. There was more than a passing interest last time out."

  think they wont sell lower la, cos they just spend huge dosh on kaka, ronaldo and benzema. probably they would do business at 25m as they buy him for 20m. 22m should be sufficient to get him lar. must compromise lar. u buy 20m, i buy 22m u still earn 2m.

  Lol, well yeah must earn proft is 1 thing. But u see, he is a surplus to RM and not needed, so if there a club willing to buy him at a price below 20 mil juz sell lor. If not keep him in squad to pay him weekly nia, waste money.

  Surplus or not surplus, it isn't the point... Cos as long as there is a demand, his price won't go down... AC Milan is also interested in him... Spurs as well and a few others too...

  Hmm, sadly I think he'd choose AC over Utd if given the choice. He's probably guranteed a first team spot at AC...at Utd he'll be rotated.

  Real wants to holdout for $20m so they won't be forced to deal unless their price is met or... when the transfer window is about to close and they realised no one has made a serious bid... In this case, I believe they will be willing to lower their asking fee and accept whats on offer...

  They still have RVN at $120k per week... Even give free also clubs might have to consider given his salary and balanced contract with Real... Real may have to give him away free just for someone else to take over his balance contract... Unless he is willing to take a pay cut like Owen...

  AC Milan have pulled out of the race to sign Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and will instead focus their efforts on Sevilla forward Luis Fabiano.

  The Rossoneri revealed earlier this week that offers had been made for both Huntelaar and Fabiano, both of whom have also been linked with Manchester United.

  However, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has now confirmed the club have ducked out of the race to sign Dutchman Huntelaar, who is deemed surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu following the arrivals of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

  "At this point there is only one negotiation standing, and that is Luis Fabiano," Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Our coach (Leonardo) prefers Luis Fabiano to Huntelaar."

  Galliani admitted luring Brazil international Fabiano to the San Siro will be no easy task, with the 28-year-old's buy-out clause set at 30million euros.

  "Several million euros separate us from him," Galliani continued.

  "The difference is still there and there's little to say with the exception that we need to reach an agreement on the transfer figure."

  Fabiano, top goalscorer at the recent Confederations Cup in South Africa, is under contract at Sevilla for two further seasons.

  Galliani confirmed that once Milan sign a striker, their summer transfer dealings will be completed. American defender Oguchi Onyewu has so far been the only new arrival at the club since the transfer window re-opened.
