Cristiano Ronaldo was visibly elated by the reception he received from Real Madrid fans last night.
The former Manchester United star couldn't stop grinning at the media conference immediately after doing a lap of honour in front of over 85,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"I never expected the stadium would be full for me," said Ronaldo, "it is awesome.
"It was awesome, a very nice feeling. I did not expect to fill the stadium. To enter the field and seeing this has been incredible.
"I will try to prove that what was paid for me is worth it. I will give my best for Madrid. The treble is a great ambition, but if we win the Champions League and I will still be happy."
Ronaldo also insisted he would avoid the nightlife in Madrid.
"To be successful there must be work. Then there is time for everything else. I'm not going to change my working methods and way of life after changing cities," he said.
Ronaldo added: "Real Madrid is a special club, and Barcelona is a good team, but Madrid is more special. This was one of the most beautiful days of my career."
