Luis Fabiano's agent remains optimistic a deal can be agreed for the Sevilla striker to join AC Milan.
The Italian giants' vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed Fabiano is the club's sole transfer target after ending their interest in Real Madrid's Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
Galliani has suggested the two clubs are not far from reaching a deal, but is reluctant to meet the 30million euros (£26million) release clause in Fabiano's contract.
The Brazil international is keen to move to the San Siro and his agent Jose Fuentes has confirmed Fabiano has spoken to Milan coach Leonardo.
Fuentes is also upbeat about the prospects of Sevilla accepting an offer from Milan in order to secure Fabiano's move to Serie A.
"Has he spoken with him?" Fuentes told Radio Radio when asked about talking to Leonardo. "Certainly.
"I am happy to hear Galliani's comments and we hope the matter can be resolved positively.
"The buy-out clause is 30million euros, but with some good will there can be an agreement between Milan and Sevilla.
"I'm really optimistic because Milan want the player and he wants to join the Rossoneri."
