Man City's Richards has swine flu
Manchester City defender Micah Richards has contracted swine flu and is stuck in Cyprus, The Sun newspaper reported on Saturday.
The England international, 21, said he caught the virus while on holiday. He is taking Tamiflu medication and has isolated himself in a hotel room.
Richards, who was due to fly home on Wednesday, is staying in a five-star hotel in the party resort of Ayia Napa on the southeast coast. He hopes to be able to return to Britain on Sunday.
"At first I thought it was a really bad chest infection, or maybe alcohol poisoning. I felt so weak I couldn't move or eat," he told The Sun.
"When I was told I had swine flu all sorts of things started going through my mind. You see on the news people dying of it.
"My club have been very understanding. I'll get some stick from the lads when I do return -- they will probably all turn up to training in surgical masks.
"No-one out there is so fit and healthy they can't catch swine flu. If I can get it, anyone can."
