Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as an unlikely candidate to sign Patrick Vieira.
The Inter midfielder has been linked with a move all summer, and recently turned down an offer from Birmingham City.
According to The Daily Mail, Spurs are preparing a one-year deal, with wages of around £35,000, considerably less than his current deal at Inter.
The newspaper quotes a 'friend' of Vieira's as saying, "This is not about money, this is about a chance to play.
"He has great memories of his time in London at Arsenal but that is in the past. The deal is not completed but he has an open mind.
"He is not afraid of the challenge from Spurs."
Furthermore, an 'Inter source' is supposed to have said, "The club are willing to discuss a transfer with Tottenham."
Vieira has previously stated that he would find it hard to play for another Premier League club, but Spurs are hoping that the lure of moving back to London might be too tempting to ignore.
he is 33? does he still have the legs to run in midfield?
quite injury prone these few years isnt it
he wont go la.
why would he want to tarnish his arsenal image by going to spurs for considerable less money somemore.
He would consider going Man City.. or AC Milan
