David Beckham has changed his stance over a possible return to England by revealing that he would consider playing for another Premier League club.
The 34-year-old has in the past ruled out a move back to England, stating that he could never envisage playing for any team other than former club Manchester United.
However the midfielder
has now revealed that he would seriously contemplate a return to his
homeland, if it increased his chances of playing in next summer's World Cup.
Beckham is currently back in America where he has rejoined his team-mates at LA Galaxy after a short loan spell with AC Milan.
"I would definitely consider it," he said of a move back to England.
"Never say never. When I left United I said I would never want to play for another English club.
"My heart was in Manchester - and I couldn't see myself wearing another shirt in the Premiership and playing against United. Now I couldn't rule it out."
Despite a clamour of clubs expected to show their interest when the MLS season draws to a close in November, the former Real Madrid star is expected to return to the San Siro where he made a big impression for the final five months of last term.
"Obviously Milan expressed that they want me to go back, so I don't see any reason why that would change," he added.
"We'll have to wait and see. I hope to be going back there."
Beckham also revealed that he has already spoken to Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan after the striker's public outburst against the former England skipper last week.
"I'm not going to talk about what was said," he declared. "That was between me, Landon and the manager (Bruce Arena
) but we had a good talk."
Beckham remains confident that the Galaxy can make the play-offs despite the team currently standing just outside the top four of the Western Conference and the veteran insists he is not concerned about his fitness despite not playing since June.
"For the first two or three weeks after the Italian season I did nothing. I needed to let my legs rest a little bit," he confessed.
"Then over the last 10 days I've been doing 10 miles a day on a bike so my fitness level is getting back to what it was."
