Manchester United are being linked with a shock move for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.
The Daily Star says Rossi's agent has alerted Manchester United that the hitman may be available after talks over a new Villarreal contract stalled.
Rossi joined Villarreal from United in 2007 and the Old Trafford outfit have first refusal should the Spanish side decide to sell the Italian striker.
Manchester United are weighing up a move to re-sign Giuseppe Rossi as the striker continues to see talks about a new deal with Villarreal stall, according to a report.
The
22-year-old has a clause in his contract that allows the Red Devils to
have first refusal should he become available or any other club make a
bid for his services.
In recent days, Rossi has been linked with

Alberto Aquilani's agent has rubbished reports that Liverpool are weighing up a bid for the Roma midfielder.
There have been rumours suggesting that Rafa Benitez
has identified the 25-year-old Italy international as an ideal signing should Xabi Alonso leave for Real Madrid.
However, the player's agent, Franco Zavaglia, insists there is absolutely no truth in those suggestions and says
Aquilani is simply focusing on recovering from the ankle injury that
left him sidelined for much of last season.
"Alberto to Liverpool? Don't talk nonsense," he told Romagiallorossa.com.
"There's no need to even speak about it because there is nothing real there.
"The player just extended his contract and is working towards recovery and giving his best for Roma."
Aquilani is under contract until 2013 and boss Luciano Spalletti this week tipped the player to recover his best form next season.
