JOHNSON ... Rafa reckons full-back is money well spent
The former Portsmouth and Chelsea defender, 24, is set to face St Gallen in Switzerland.
And, while Benitez admits he agrees with Manchester United chief Alex Ferguson that the transfer market has gone mad this summer, he does not think Johnson's price was over the top.
He said: "Yes, the money people are asking for is crazy. But the money for Johnson is OK.
"He is an English international with quality and he is worth the money.
"He is a very good offensive full-back who can give us more options - especially when we are at home and teams are defending against us.
"Going forward he will give us something special."
We'll see how all the new signings turn out to be.
he may be worth the money spent, but i doubt liverpool had a prob with it's orginal right-back, the money should had been spend on wingers, my thoughts.
