Serie A champions Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich regarding the purchase of Brazilian centre-half Lucio.
The South American stopper has spent the last eight years in Germany, taking in spells at Bayer Leverkusen
and Bayern.
He has enjoyed a trophy-laden five-year stint at Allianz Arena, but is now looking forward to the prospect of continuing his distinguished career in Italy.
Lucio, who had 12 months left to run on his contract at Bayern, is set to pen a three-year deal with Inter.
Both clubs have refused to release the financial details involved in the transfer.
The 31-year-old recently captained his country to Confederations Cup glory in South Africa and can boast a World Cup winners' medal, from 2002, on his impressive CV.
"The clubs have agreed and the player has also agreed with Inter," Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness told the club's official website.
"After the Confederations Cup it was his expressed wish to leave Bayern if there was an offer from a major club.
"We are of course sad that he is leaving because Lucio did outstanding work here,"
