  Barcelona finalise sensational Ibrahimovic, Eto'o deal

  Barcelona are spending the day tying up loose ends over a sensational agreement for Inter's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

  Sport says a deal was struck between Barca president Joan Laporta and Inter counterpart Massimo Moratti after midnight last night for the Swede. Barca will pay £35 million cash, plus send Samuel Eto'o and Alex Hleb to Inter in exchange for Ibrahimovic. Eto'o will sign permanently, while Hleb will spend next season on-loan at the San Siro.

  Eto'o immediately gave his approval when contacted by Barca last night, while Ibra was happy to drop his wage demands, which had initially thwarted talks last month.

  The Swede will join the Treble winners on less wages than Lionel Messi.

  La Liga is essentially two teams like SPL rangers and celtic.

   

  Barcelona is still the team to beat and RM will be a close second. wont be easy for Barcelona to retain la liga and CL titles.

  yes Eto to me is so much better , Eto seldom miss sitters , whereas i saw Ibra missed alot ....

  Hleb i dunno , he's not anything instrucmental .

  Bizarre to see Barcelona paid £35m + Eto + Hleb in exchange for Ibra .....

  Laporta miscue this deal surely !!!!

  He's going to regret it .

  Eto soon will haunt Barcelona in the UCL !!!!

  sometimes this kind of thing lan lan, hleb is a decent enough of a player but at barca there are better midfielders....at least he can take comfort they still want him for the future hence the loan....

  Barcelona president Laporta: Ibrahimovic-Eto'o swap agreed

  Barcelona president Joan Laporta has declared a swap involving Samuel Eto'o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic "agreed".

  Laporta met his Inter Milan counterpart Massimo Moratti yesterday to discuss the potential switch.

  Moratti said earlier that negotiations are still ongoing but Laporta insists the deal is all but completed with Inter set to receive 45million euros as well as land Eto'o and Barcelona winger Alexander Hleb.

  "I can't say that it will still happen if one of the conditions isn't fulfilled since the signing has been agreed in a comprehensive manner," he said.

  "I spoke with Samuel on Tuesday and after the dinner in Italy.

  "I'm not going to disclose these conversations. I'll only say that his move is not a question of money.

  "He is a professional and his work has to be rewarded, but his priority is not money. It's other things."

  With Ibrahimovic, who finished as Serie A's top scorer last season, seemingly on the verge of a move to the Nou Camp, David Villa's chances of joining the treble winners appear even slimmer.

  However, Laporta insists they have not given up hope of landing the Valencia and Spain striker.

  "The signing of David Villa has not been ruled out," he added. "We have not ruled out any of the possibilities open to us.

  "The technical secretary remains in contact with him because he understands the anxiety of a player for whom, if the clubs had reached an agreement, things would have gone in a different direction."

  Andres Iniesta is unsure about Barcelona's deal for Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

  Any agreement will depend on Barca sending Samuel Eto'o to Inter in part-exchange, a development which doesn't please Iniesta.

  The midfielder said: "There is nothing official. I think that the Swedish player is a very important one, but my teammate is Samuel and I appreciate him a lot.

  "I've had plenty of good times with Samuel."

  But, Iniesta also insisted: "We'll welcome Ibrahimovic in the dressing room."

  Barcelona have reportedly concluded the transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Inter.

  According to Sport, Joan Laporta, Txiki Begiristain and Raul Sanllehi met with Massimo Moratti late on Thursday and an agreement was reached around midnight.

  The transfer will see the Blaugrana part with €40 million plus Samuel Eto’o and Aliaksandr Hleb, with the Belarussian joining the Nerazzurri on a loan spell.

  The Barcelona-based daily believes that Inter had initially informed the Blaugrana that Ibrahimovic was keen on moving to the Camp Nou, at which point the Catalan club contacted Eto’o, who immediately gave the part-exchange deal the green light.

  And when Barca’s own negotiations with Valencia for David Villa all but collapsed, Laporta promptly contacted Moratti to arrange an emergency meeting last night upon receiving a request from the head coach, Pep Guardiola, to conclude the deal as soon as possible.

  It is also speculated that ‘Ibracadabra’ will take a pay-cut in order to play for ‘El Tricampeon’ – and also ensure that he does not eclipse Lionel Messi – while Eto’o has allegedly demanded €13m from the San Siro outfit for a period of five years, or €65 million in total.

  one of the most ridiculous transfers of all time.

  Firstly, eto and ibrahimovic are of the same age. Born in 1981.

  Eto has a better goal to match ratio. He doesnt miss sitters as much as ibrahimovic does. Even though ibra is not bad, i doubt he is as good as eto. Eto can score simple goals.

  I think it would sound more reasonble if the deal was to exchange eto for ibra + 40millions. Not the other way round.

  barcelona tried to sell etoo the way they sold ronaldino and deco after winning the CL in 2006. but etoo managed to stay and was not sold and he regained his form in the last 2 years.

   

  probably he bearing a grudge w barcelona for wanting to sell him 2 seasons ago. etoo was once a RM player as well lol.
