  Ferguson: Rooney can lead Man Utd attack

  Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Wayne Rooney can shoulder their attack next season.

  "The expectation on Rooney is always high," Ferguson told a news conference in Malaysia. "It is a natural situation as it is the standard which he has set for himself."

  Ferguson brushed off suggestions that United will lack bite for the new Premier League season because of Ronaldo's absence, saying the presence of other forwards such as Dimitar Berbatov and promising youngster Federico Macheda will compensate for the loss.

  "We have a squad ... with outstanding football and it is how we use them which is important," Ferguson said.

  yes rooney should be the focal point of attack.

  he has not fulfil his huge potential yet.

  he got want he wanted so he better put his foot where his mouth is.....but he doesn't have that striker's profile like torres, anelka or even drogba.....these 3 can either play alone or in duo, even their assists rate is more than decent.....rooney gets frustrated too easily, wind him up a little and his brain is all fried and you see his shots ending in the stands.......

  Rooney has always played well with Owen for England.

  If Owen is fit, I am sure they will both get GOALS
