RONALDO ... message
Megabucks City are said to have wanted to sign Ron from rivals Manchester United in an astonishing £135million deal last year.
But the Portuguese winker joined boyhood idols Real Madrid instead in a world-record £80m switch this summer.
City boss Mark Hughes pulled off a coup by persuading Carlos Tevez to quit Old Trafford and join the Eastlands revolution.
But Ronaldo insists he could never have emulated the Argie striker by leaving the red half of Manchester for the blue half.
Asked if he would have joined City, the 24-year-old wing superstar scoffed: "Never!"
He added: "City have a lot of good players and might be a problem for United, Arsenal and Chelsea. But that doesn't interest me.
"I am only interested in playing for Real Madrid and teams like Barcelona and Valencia."
And Ron fired another parting shot at his former club's derby rivals by saying he hopes they do NOT win the Premier League title.
When asked if City could lift the crown, he replied: "Maybe, I don't know. I hope not."
Ronaldo insists leaving United was the hardest decision of his career. He said: "I joined when I was 18 and I was there six years.
"I won many things there, collective and individual trophies. I met very good people there and it was not easy to leave. But life is a challenge and it's a good move."
Ron also reckons Michael Owen will have little problem filling his No 7 shirt - just as he had no problem following the likes of Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Bryan Robson.
Ronaldo said: "He is an experienced player with some of the biggest clubs. There will be no more pressure on him because of the No 7.
"United have done well, he is a good player, and English player and he has everything to win there.
"It is a fantastic club and it is a good decision to give him the No 7."
He added: "City have a lot of good players and might be a problem for United, Arsenal and Chelsea. But that doesn't interest me".
So Man City might not be a problem for Liverpool . I think so too .
