Tottenham striker Robbie Keane believes this season could finally see the club break back into the top four.
Spurs last achieved a top-four finish in the 1989/90 campaign, but Keane believes a change of fortunes could be on the horizon.
After a torrid start under former boss Juande Ramos last term, manager Harry Redknapp helped steer the side to eighth in the Barclays Premier League.
Former Liverpool frontman Keane is now eyeing progression and feels any further spending by Redknapp will ensure they are a force to be reckoned with.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch, but Redknapp has admitted a deal could be too expensive while Keane is of the belief that the club's frontline is already strong enough.
He said in the Daily Star: "We've got the firepower to do it now. I'm sure if other players come in, it will only add to the squad.
"Crouch is a good player but I don't really want to talk about players who are still with other clubs.
"This could be a big year for us. Breaking into the top four has to be the aim."
Keane also accepts that cash-rich Manchester City will be a major threat in the new season but does not fear the Eastlands outfit.
He said: "City are at the same level as us. They have a similar squad to ours, and they've spent a lot of money.
"Good luck to them. But we've got to concentrate on what we do. Maybe we can be the quiet ones and come from nowhere."
