
Marseille have confirmed they expect veteran striker Fernando Morientes to join them on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old former Spain international is looking for a new club after leaving Valencia, where he has spent the past three seasons.
Morientes,
who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Monaco in the 2003/04 season, scored 27 for his country in 47 appearances.
L'OM have confirmed they have agreed in principle a deal with the striker, who will officially put pen-to-paper on Tuesday.
"An agreement in principle has been found this Monday afternoon with Fernando Morientes," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The Spanish striker, who played in the colours of Valencia in 2008/09, is available on a free transfer.
"He should be at Marseille on Tuesday to sign his contract."
