RAFA BENITEZ'S cheeky £6million bid for Hull centre-back Michael Turner has been rejected.
And City boss Phil Brown reacted swiftly to the Liverpool chief's offer by slapping a whopping £12m price-tag on his England prospect, 25.
Turner, who cost Hull just £350,000 from Brentford three years ago, is seen as Sami Hyypia's ideal replacement at Anfield by Benitez.
But Brown said: "I have discussed the amount we would need with my chairman Paul Duffen and we have had approaches.
"We fended them off with a price-tag and if our valuation is met, then we'll listen.
"Unless someone comes in screaming the rooftops down with big money, Michael will be here at the start of the season."
