Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has sent out a remarkable message to Real Madrid, warning that the Primera Division club are toying with their very future having embarked on this summer's massive spending spree.
Real Madrid have already spent over €200 million on transfers this summer and they are still looking to add to their list of reinforcements, according to the latest reports.
One of Real Madrid's long-term targets has been Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery, but the German giants are uninterested interested in off-loading the Frenchman.
Bayern have been less than pleased with Real Madrid's pursuit of Ribery, and Hoeness has now declared that the Spanish club's huge spending may backfire in the future.
"Real will have problems when the authorities close the stadium because they cannot pay their debts," he told Audi-Star-Talk.
"The water pitcher goes to the fountain so many times that it eventually breaks."
The German club's general manager stressed that Ribery will not be sold for a figure inferior to the one Real spent on Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Real have never offered us money. We told them they only had to get on a plane to Munich if they came with a three-digit cheque. From what it seems, they do not have it, so they stayed in Madrid," he noted.
"Why do Bayern have to sell Ribery? We want to get what the market gives. If Cristiano Ronaldo is worth €94 million, Ribery has a similar value, because Ribery, Ronaldo, Messi and perhaps Kaka are the best players in Europe."
Hoeness had recently indicated that Bayern could report Real Madrid to FIFA over their pursuit of Ribery, and he has now once again criticised the Spanish club's handling of the matter.
"Real Madrid have been violating FIFA's rules for weeks, because we never gave them consent to speak to Franck or his agents," Hoeness added.
