KOLO TOURE limped off as Martin Petrov's late strike saved Manchester City's blushes.
City's billionaires looked set for a humbling defeat at Barnsley after Daniel Bogdanovic had given the hosts the lead.
But Petrov tapped in a gut-wrenching leveller in the games final stages.
Luke Steele had kept Barnsley in it, pulling off a miraculous double save from Craig Bellamy and Emmanuel Adebayor.
And when big money defender Toure was hauled off with an ankle injury on the hour mark, the hosts began to sniff an upset.
Bogdanovic then cashed in - racing through the City backline before hammering home on 84 minutes.
But just as the hosts looked set to record a famous win, Petrov popped up to salvage a draw.

CHELSEA had a right Royal let off at Reading as two late goals let Carlo and Co off the hook.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti tinkered at the Madjeski, putting out an experimental diamond line-up.
But the Italian's tactical shake-up backfired - and the Blues were left shellshocked when Reading pinched a shock opener.
Jimmy Kebe broke the deadlock for the Royals, side-stepping Petr Cech's charge and rolling into an empty net.
Scott Davies - who was on-loan at lowly Aldershot last season - then doubled the lead seconds before the break.
Youngster Davies arced a free kick round the wall and past Cech's desparing dive.
But with Reading heading for shock win, Salomon Kalou set up a grandstand finish.
And Carlo's men were let off the hook when Alex Pearce shanked into his own net with minutes left on the clock.
