  Man Utd to spend Benzema cash on Aguero

  Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to get serious about a deal for Atletico Madrid ace Sergio Aguero.

  The Daily Star Sunday says Argentinian Aguero is seen as the ideal replacement for Carlos Tevez having formed a potent partnership with former United striker Diego Forlan in La Liga.

  The son-in-law of Argentina manager Diego Maradona, Aguero has admirers throughout Europe and so far Atletico Madrid have been fending off all inquiries by quoting a £50million asking price.

  United, and other clubs like AC Milan and Barcelona, believe that is too high but Fergie is weighing up an offer of around £35m – the amount they were ready to pay for Lyon’s Karim Benzema before Real Madrid raised the stakes.

  Man Utd ask Valencia to name their price for Silva

  Manchester United are ready to ask Valencia to name their price for star winger David Silva.

  The News of the World says although boss Sir Alex Ferguson claims United are not in the market for further signings, they are prepared to deal at the right price.

  United will meet Valencia officials before Wednesday's prestige friendly at Old Trafford, but will have to pay £25million to land the Spain midfielder.

  If they sign Sergio Aguero, that would mean they have 5 strikers in a row, I wonder how are they gonna use 5 of them at a go, and the signing of David Silvia would be good, as he will be he replacement for Ryan Giggs, but he will have to fight for the place, along with Zoran Tosic.

  Aiya, I won't buy too much into this lah...

  I think they are using this news for mutual benefits to promote their up coming match where United will play Valencia on wed... And also if Pool sell Alonso and go knocking on Valencia's door for Silva, They will know that £25million is the starting sum to offer lah...lol

  I think many already know Rafa lah, always want to sell high, high but when come to buying, always offer low low... lol

  Don't be too happy, Actually i find this David Silva is overrated lah... If want to pay £25million for him, I think it would be better to pay for Ashley Young... Seriously...

  Young is somemore an English player so won't want to go back in a few years time kind of thing like Reyes, Arbeloa and now Alonso... Spanish players are really quite a waste of time in my opinion... I am very sure soon Fabregas will also be saying the same stuff in the next few years...

  Macheda and owen wont play often. Only rooney and berba main. Aguero come, macheda lesser chance. Further more manutd 5 nia, man city 10 leh~

  Yeah ashley young seem good as well. I realise that man utd seem to have no spanish players after i read this news lol. Or am i wrong..

  Agree...has said this before. Young is much better than Silva...and he is English!!

  Valencia wing ace Silva now Man Utd's marquee target

  Valencia winger David Silva is looming as the big-name deal Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to close before the summer market shuts.

  The Manchester Evening News says the United boss tried and failed to sign the Valencia star last summer, but hopes to make him his marquee capture following the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.

  Silva, however, is seen as a more than useful recruit with United still in the hunt for a world class left-sided midfielder.

  Ferguson has yet to effectively replace Ryan Giggs since the Welshman was converted from a left winger to a central midfielder.

  Nani has failed to make the position his own, while Ji-Sung Park is not a natural winger.

  Zoran Tosic is still seen as too fragile to cope with the rigours of a full Premier League season and new signing Gabriel Obertan is also one for the future.

  Ferguson is a long time admirer of Silva, having been knocked back in his attempt to bring the 23-year-old to Old Trafford last year.

  Lol well, man utd need a solid LM to replace giggsy. Nani too inconsistent, tosic/oberton not enough match experience, valencia more suited on the right i think, park also on right better. So silva come shiok.

  I don't think United even really want him... And at $25m, he is seriously over-priced. I think there is more chance of Liverpool making an offer now that Alonso is gone than United even trying to bid... Well, but its a good match promo though... It gets interest running for their meeting tonight...
