Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has held talks with Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez over the availability of Javier Mascherano.
Guardiola wants to bring the Argentina captain to the Nou Camp and Sport says he phoned Benitez last Thursday to discuss the midfielder's situation.
Benitez is understood to have told Guardiola he is prepared to sell Mascherano - for £45 million, which is well out of Barca's price range.
Lol if he and alonso go, next season cannot compete for title liao even if man utd bo ronaldo.
In current financial situation , to sell Alonso and Mascharano , at a combine fee of £75 million , it's ok to KIV the title for the season of 2009/2010 .
Consolidate a better squad , then go for the title with the £75m .

as Poolman said, their aim is to "consolidate a better squad"... sadly, till date, after 80s, still consolidating.. but next season is the one, right??
