Pato: Star to leave Milan?
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti, who signed the Brazilian international for Milan in 2007, is desperate to bring the highly-rated striker to Stamford Bridge and has pulled out all the stops to get his man.
But having already lost Kaka to Real Madrid this summer the Rossoneri are eager not to lose another star player in the same transfer window and Chelsea have come up with this astonishing deal to get around the problem.
A Stamford Bridge insider told The News of The World: "Ancelotti's so keen to capture Pato that he will pay a club record fee and still allow the kid to stay at Milan for another season. That tells you how highly he values him."
The source added: "The boy would come to Chelsea right now but Milan have just sold Kaka and do not want to lose another top star.
"That's why this deal could make all the difference. Milan get their money up front and keep his services for one more season and have plenty of time to scout a replacement.
"Chelsea are hoping it is the perfect deal both for them and for Milan."
The 19-year-old, former Internacional player scored 18 goals in Serie A last term and has also established himself in the national team.

tabloid journalism as usual, now the mainstream journalism also uses the source, damn
This news isn't too far off actually... If you think Ancolotti wants Pato badly and AC might need the money too... I feel Pato is a great player even at 19, and he could very well be one of the top 3 players in 3 yrs time... I feel even at $45m, he will be a good buy.

AC Milan have denied reports they are in talks with Chelsea over Alexandre Pato and have reiterated their stance that he is "non transferable".
Pato has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, now managed by former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, all summer and the Rossoneri turned down a "monster offer" for the Brazil forward over a month ago.
Fresh reports today suggested Chelsea were close to sealing a deal for Pato, which would see the Premier League club shell out 52million euros (£44million) and loan the 19-year-old back to Milan for the upcoming season.
However, the Rossoneri have dismissed the story outright with a statement on their website.
It read: "With regards to the rumours circulated this morning by the English press, AC Milan clarify and reaffirm that there are no negotiations ongoing with Chelsea regarding Alexandre Pato, and that the player is absolutely non transferable."
Pato, who is under contract until June 2012, finished as Milan's second highest scorer behind Kaka in Serie A last season with 15 goals in 36 appearances.
It is unlikely the Rossoneri would be swayed by a huge offer having already cashed in around 65million euros from the sale of Kaka to Real Madrid at the beginning of the summer.
really man.. deco, lampard, ballack, essien, mikel is more than enough! but is pato a striker?
He is like a left winger who can score lots of goals... He is like a back then 21 yrs old Ronaldo... Just about to become a very good player... I think he is the best bet to make it among all the youngsters...
