Manchester United winger Nani is expected to miss the start of the Premier League season after dislocating his shoulder in the Community Shield against Chelsea on Sunday.
The Portugal international sustained the injury in a collision with Blues skipper John Terry and will now be out for some time.
"He's out for a while, the worry being that we couldn't put it back into place,” said Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Nani scored United’s opening goal in the clash with Chelsea which ended 2-2 after regular time but the Blues eventually won 4-1 on penalties.
