  Barcelona convinced Arsenal will sell Cesc for £25M

  Barcelona are ready to turn up the heat on Arsenal over their skipper Cesc Fabregas.

  The Times says Barcelona are said to have turned their attention to Cesc after failing to sign Javier Mascherano, the Liverpool midfield player.

  The Catalan club believe that an offer in the region of £25 million could tempt Arsenal to sell the Spain midfield player, who has expressed his unhappiness at the club’s failure to win a trophy in the past four seasons.

  Fàbregas, who has five years left on his contract, has committed his future to Arsenal this summer, but many feel that a transfer is likely next summer.

  Barcelona chief won't rule out bid for Arsenal's Cesc

  Barcelona refuse to rule out a move for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

  Barca are being linked with a £25 million bid for the Spain international and sports director Txiki Begiristain admits a deal could happen.

  "It's very difficult to strengthen a team that has won the Treble," said Begiristain, "because to do so can lead you into financial problems."

  Asked about Cesc, Begiristain added: "It depends on what you want to invest. If we invest a lot of money, it could happen. We do not know the amount needed. We have not asked Arsenal.

  "If we think that the value is excessive, we will not try. I do not like to dismiss any player of such ability."
