The billionaire Chelsea owner called Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness last weekend. He made clear his intention to recruit the French star and is willing to pay the most ever by a British club to get him.
A senior Bayern source said: "Uli was taken by surprise by the phone call but was very honest and courteous with Mr Abramovich. "We are still resolved to keep Ribery but Hoeness agreed to meet with Abramovich in Germany to discuss any offer."
As SunSport revealed last month, Manchester United and Chelsea will both launch bids for Ribery this summer. United have yet to make an offer and Abramovich has now stolen a march on them.
New Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti was promised a marquee signing by the Russian billionaire but so far bids for Kaka and Alexandre Pato have failed.
Ribery has openly declared his preference to join Real Madrid. Munich fear Ribery has signed a pre-contract similar to Cristiano Ronaldo which will see him leave for Real next summer.
Angered by Real's arrogance, the Germans may try to sell him to Chelsea.

With Zhirkov and Malouda on the left, I think this is more of a rumour
ribery can play center, left and right. he's a good addition no matter what strength a squad alr have
Later Real offer 60 millions...

The Daily Mail claims that Bayern Munich are close to completing a €17.5 million deal for Jose Bosingwa, and Uli Hoeness has confirmed that the Chelsea wing-back is very much on the Germans' radar.
Now without the retired Willy Sagnol, Die Roten have singled out the Blues' Congolese-born star to fill the void - and Hoeness has claimed that the Londoners are ready to enter negotiations.
"We need a strong, experienced defender on the right side, especially if we use [Franck] Ribery in a more offensive role, as is being considered," said the Bavarian club's general manager, according to the tabloid.
"We want only Bosingwa and have no interest in any other player for this position. Chelsea agreed to give us a signal after the Community Shield that they were ready to talk and we are waiting for contact from them."
It was reported earlier this week that Roman Abramovich had flown to Germany to make an offer of around €47m for a certain French superstar, but Hoeness has dismissed such suggestions.
He said, "What does he [the Chelsea owner] expect for that - Ribery's right leg? Seriously, we stopped talking about Franck leaving a month ago because it isn't going to happen."

lol. i agree he's good. his reaction is rather fast and his tackling is good. but then he always get yellow carded and outrun by the other team strikers.
if ribery not coming and he is sold, i will curse roman ![]()

lol. ok lor. i wait and see. last time nearly sell him but luckily never. lol. still prefer bosingwa to him when comes to attacking. but i think he can play centre back too...
ya attacking wise, bosingwa have the upper hand
roman just loves to self-destruct.....clearly there isn't a russian translation for 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it...'.
