Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is happy to see his decision to buy back several former Spurs players being vindicated.
In his column for The Sun, Redknapp wrote: "There's been a few words thrown my way about re-signing players Spurs have let go.
"But Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Robbie Keane and Pascal Chimbonda all have something else in common - they are damn good players. Let me tell you this, if Pat Jennings was around right now, I'd resign him. And if Glenn Hoddle was 28 and available, I'd snap him up, too.
"All I am ever interested in is signing good players.
"What I am finding pleasing though, is the attitude of a terrific group of Tottenham players who know every result is underpinned by the effort they put in when we don't have the ball.
"The big test for us this season is how we perform away from home, doing the business in other clubs' back yards will determine our ambitions of improving on eighth place last season. And if it means buying back more Spurs players who can boost my squad to achieve it, then I will."
