Former Italy coach and AC Milan chief Cesare Maldini says Inter boss Jose Mourinho is just courting publicity over his blazing row with Marcello Lippi.
“The old ‘who will win the title’ question is a classic fixture of pre-season interviews,” explained Maldini, who was in charge for the 1998 World Cup.
“Lippi, even if he is the Coach of the Italy squad, has every right to freely express his opinion. The real issue here is that Mourinho just wants attention.
“He always has to be at the centre of the spotlight’s glare and be the focus of the media, so he created this controversy out of nothing.”
