Hibernian
defender Souleymane 'Sol' Bamba could be on his way to Liverpool this
summer, after the player claimed the Reds are interested in signing him.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international has made 30 league
appearances for the SPL side since arriving from Dunfermline last
summer.
And the 6ft 3in stopper, who has been linked with Arsenal and Real
Betis in the past, could now be the latest addition to Liverpool's
back-line following Greek international Sotirios Kyrgiakos, after the
player revealed the Anfield outfit - as well as two French sides - are
keen on recruiting him.
“I’ve been told by my agent there has been a lot of interest in me in the summer," he said in the Daily Record.
“Liverpool, Lorient and Grenoble are all following me, and obviously it’s flattering.
“Any player would be attracted to a club of Liverpool’s size, but I
can’t think too much about that until there is a concrete offer from
them.”
Liverpool are currently depleted at the back following injuries to Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and Fabio Aurelio, while Jamie Carragher was a doubt for the Reds' opening league game at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, and sustained a nasty head injury during the 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.
