Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Eboue has explained the reason for throwing his shirt into the crowd during a pre-season match.
Last season, Eboue was jeered and booed by Gunners fans and was on the outer at the club, but after some tough times, he bounced back and decided to give his shirt to the fans to say thank you for letting him stay.
“I am happy here. When I threw my shirt into the crowd in pre-season I just wanted to give it to the fans. That was it. I never said I wanted to move,” Eboue said.
The Ivory Coast international added that he believes Arsenal can improve greatly this season as the squad is extremely close.
“This year we are more together and have more solidarity in our team. For me personally, I think it is important to be like this and if we give our best we can win something this year,” he added.
“We go out together and do things together. This is important to have because we are young and it's much better to speak together and get close together. It’s very important.”
