Forget Real Madrid and Barcelona, Manchester United are out in front of all SPORTING clubs in terms of value, it has been revealed.
United have been named the world's most valuable sports club by Forbes Magazine.
Their total value is put at £1.17billion, £200m more than gridiron's Dallas Cowboys.
Heh heh, 'by Forbes Magazine.'
Arsenal are regarded as a more valuable club than Chelsea and Manchester City in Forbes' richlist for 2009.
Manchester United have been named No1 - ahead of the USA's own Dallas Cowboys.
But the surprise will be Arsenal, where manager Arsene Wenger has refused to spend big in this summer's transfer market.
Liverpool are down in 18th place, Chelsea 42nd and Tottenham 65th, while Manchester City just made the top 100 list.

I guess its about value... Like how much it would take to buy the club right now kind of thing... Arsenal being up there is not surprising considering they are one of the more consistent clubs that has a good yearly financial records... They like United, have shown good profit making annually and have huge potential being a club base in London... Already, they have the most expensive tickets in the EPL if not in the world and they are still able to fill their 60 000 stadium without much problem...
So I guess the value of the clubs would come down to... Location, size, brand, consistent annual profits, and potential future earning... All these could be used to value the club... and they are probably more important that say City and Chelsea as they can sustain as a club / business rather than depending on hand-outs from rich sugar daddies... No normal businessman would want to buy the clubs if they have to keep putting in money... Only those that has potential for real returns will be valued more... Like in this case Arsenal...
Arsenal emirates stadium is already worth few hundred millions + highbury potential of highbury stadium all located in london. that would probably already half a billions. arsenal brand value, player value maybe another few hundred milions
