Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he was right to sell Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City so not block the progress of youngsters like Nicklas Bendtner and Carlos Vela.
"They got a great striker and we got a reasonable price," said the manager. "We have some young players who can now get an opportunity to play."
The Frenchman confessed it was a tough call whether or not to allow Adebayor to leave, but he insisted that the bigger picture influenced his final decision.
He also told arsenal.com: "It is not always 'do you keep Ade or not?', it is 'do you lose the players who are behind him?'. Because if they do not play, they will want to go, so you have to make this kind of decision.
"It is not against the player. It is sometimes a case of 'can we afford to lose a player we have educated since the age of 16 or 17 who will want to go if he doesn't play?'”.
sold liao forget it. dont think of the past. he is a bastard anyway. u dont sell him, everyseason you will face thi player kpkb for higher salary else wanting to play somewhere else.
