Milan have binned their wait-and-see policy on Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and are ready to show him the door during the January transfer window.
According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, the club's directors have already decided the Dutchman will be given the axe. The hitman has been disappointing at the San Siro, failing to impose himself under Leonardo.
With just six goals between Serie A and the Champions League, a crisis has gripped the club. The Rossoneri will now offer the Dutch forward as bait for other strikers.
The report suggests Milan are keen on former Inter striker Adriano, and hope to lure the Brazilian back to the San Siro.
Tottenham Hotspur's Roman Pavlyuchenko has also been added to their list. The Russian was linked with Roma in the summer, but that move never took place. It is said Milan may use Huntelaar to entice Spurs into a deal.

Downfall: Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has struggled to make an impact at AC Milan
AC Milan want to sign Roman Pavlyuchenko and Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in exchange for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Italians giants have already lost patience with their Holland striker, despite only signing him in August, and have identified identified Pavlyuchenko as their favoured replacement.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp remains an admirer of Huntelaar, who he tried to sign this summer, and will listen to offers for his unhappy Russian.
But Milan believe their £13million summer recruit is worth more than a straight swap and want Wales defender Bale as part of the deal.
The struggling Serie A side have used several players in the problem left-back position this season - including Kakha Kaladze, Marek Jankulovski and Giuseppe Favalli - but have struggled to find a long-term replacement for retired legend Paolo Maldini.
Exit strategy: Roman Pavlyuchenko is set to leave Tottenham

Welsh whizkid: Gareth Bale (left) lines up for his country against Finland on Saturday
Bale, 20, is highly rated at White Hart Lane, but stands behind Benoit Assou-Ekotto in the pecking order and only recently overcame his jinx of not appearing in a winning side in the League for Spurs.
Milan are already happy to axe Huntelaar after an awful start to the season. The 26-year-old has failed to score in seven appearances and the club are looking for scapegoats after taking just nine points from seven matches so far in the League.
Redknapp admitted he was interested in the former Ajax player in the summer, even after signing Peter Crouch from Portsmouth.
With Pavlyuchenko set to demand a winter move, the Spurs boss will want to bring in a replacement.
The former Spartak Moscow star had looked set for a return to Russia, either with his last club or Zenit St Petersburg, who are prepared to pay about £10million.
i've always think that gareth is a player with potential. but he had been unlucky at spurs.
this deal is a win-win stituation for both clubs
