Chelsea defender Alex has agreed a new contract, according to The Daily Mirror.
The Brazilian had been pushing for a three-year deal but has reportedly settled for two years, as the Blues continue to sign up existing players after being banned by FIFA from making any transfers for the next two transfer windows.
Alex is competing with Ricardo Carvalho and John Terry for a place in the Chelsea first team and is hoping his stability will boost his World Cup hopes.
The news comes just after it was announced that Salomon Kalou had signed a new three-year contract, joining captain Terry, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba in committing to the London club.
Poor thing that he is injured now....
