Nolberto Solano has completed a move to Leicester City. The 35-year-old Peruvian, who has made over 300 appearances in English football for Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham, has recently been on trial with the Championship side and trained with the first-team squad yesterday.
Leicester are currently trying to obtain clearance to allow Solano to play in the FA Cup at Cardiff this weekend but, if he does miss out, he is likely to be available to face his former club Newcastle in the Championship game at the Walkers Stadium on January 30.
Solano last played a first-team match in England on 11 May, 2008, when he scored for West Ham in a 2-2 draw at Upton Park. He has since played for Larissa in Greece and Club Universitario de Deportes in Peru.
