According to a report released today by Barcelona-based sports daily Sport,
the Blaugrana will reportedly pursue four signings in next summer's
transfer window in an effort to bolster their squad, which, in light of
Pep Guardiola's verbal contract agreement, will be headed by the fiery
six-title-winning coach.
The report claims Guardiola has given
his technical staff permission to go to work, and, although nothing
will be made public until June 30, the players pursued seem to
principally consist of Valencia star and Spanish international David Silva,
Arsenal captain and former Barca youth product Cesc Fabregas, a
goalkeeper to substitute Pinto - possibly out of favour Atletico de
Madrid keeper Sergio Asenjo - and a viable substitute for Dani Alves at
right-back.
For their top two signings, Barcelona are anticipated to face stiff competition around Europe, as teams from England's Premier League and Italy's Serie A
pursue the two highly-coveted Spanish stars. Real Madrid have also been
rumoured to have the two midfielders high on their summer agenda.
They alraedy have Alves as rb what do they need another one for and goalie? didn't Valdes just signed a new contract last year?

Eh, i think you've misread the post. Barca is buying able substitutes for Alves and Valdes as the reserve goalie, Pinto, is old and there's no able right-back substitute for Alves at the moment.
