  Arsene Wenger has secured his first signing of the summer with Marouane Chamakh’s move from Bordeaux now confirmed.

  But it will come as no surprise to Arsenal fans, many of whom are desperate for Wenger to dip into his £45million of reserves, that he is arriving on a free transfer.

  Nevertheless, Chamakh’s arrival on a £12m four-year deal should add significant firepower to an Arsenal side who have struggled with the amount of injuries they have had to contend with this term.

  Chamakh, who scored a typical headed goal in Bordeaux’s Champions League quarter-final against Lyon, could theoretically face Arsenal in the final.

  its a big question if he can adapt to the hustle and bustle of BPL. as he is young, I think he need a season or two to adapt to the rigours of BPL.
