West Ham United are on verge of signing former Argentina star Juan Roman Riquelme on a two-year contract.
Riquelme is currently a Boca Juniors player, however the midfielder is looking to come to the Premier League and according to his agent Barry McIntosh the East London side are on the top his list.
He said: "I think the location of London, the challenge at West Ham and working beside the likes of Scott Parker and Thomas Hitzlsperger have been very important factors in him considering the move.
"Right now, we think the best option, the most likely, and the one he's most interested in is West Ham," he added.
Riquelme would be with the Argentina World Cup squad but decided that he would not play for the national side after falling out with head coach Diego Maradona.
The 31-year-old is also being looked at by other Premier League sides but it looks as through he could move to Upton Park ready for next season.
