Honduras have set a World Cup record after calling up Jerry Palacios to join his brothers Wilson and Johnny the day before they begin their World Cup campaign.
Coach Reinaldo Rueda was forced to make the change to his squad after Torino midfielder Julio Cesar de Leon withdrew with a leg injury.
Countries are allowed to make changes to their squad up until the day before their opening fixture and with Honduras playing Chile on Wednesday, Rueda called on Jerry Palacios.
The Hangzhou Greentown striker, 29, links up with his two younger siblings and they become the first trio of brothers to represent a country at the same World Cup.
FIFA communications official Pekka Odriozola told AFP: "I can confirm we received a request to okay the switch and it has been accepted."
The news is a cruel blow for De Leon, nicknamed 'Rambo'.
"Rambo is feeling very down and is very sad at missing out on the World Cup," team doctor Raul Perez told reporters.
