Chelsea have launched a stunning offer for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
Sport says Chelsea are willing to offer Ramos a five-year contract worth a staggering €10 million-a-season. The Spain international is one of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's favourite players.
Chelsea are prepared to offer up to £60 million to land Ramos, regarded by many as the world's next great defender.
For the moment, Real president Florentino Perez has referred Chelsea representatives to Ramos' €150 million buyout clause, though the final decision will be left to the player.
Should his head be turned by Chelsea's contract offer, Florentino will have little choice but to sell. Ramos' current Real deal, signed in 2006, is worth €3 million-a-year.
