spain reminded me of barca...and they lack someone like messi lol. I still expect spain to progress though but othmar hitzfield has proved once again he's a master of tactics.
This is a very good example of... All the class, all the superior technique, all the superior individual skills don't necessary give you a victory over a lesser skilled side...
Route one was all it took for the Swiss... Goalkeeper sent high ball to striker along with some bungling defensive duties also can gives you victory over the tournament's no.1 favourites... lol...
Just glad that this match just throws out all the so called arrogant superior technique sides who like to look down on lesser technical teams out the window... lol...
To make it even worse, Senderos was the only "star player" Swiss had before last night... lol.

Don't bet on it... If they can't beat Chile and Swiss gets another victory over Honduras... It's good night to Spain... Or 2nd position would probably put them head on against 2nd favourite Brazil in the 2nd round... Cool right...
spain wasnt all bad... in fact i thought they were playing pretty well. torres and navas definitely more dangerous than villa and silva. damn i thk i was the only one who cheered when the swiss scored.
watching spain against switzerland is like watching arsenal against stoke city.
the difference in spain squad compare to the squad winning Euro08 is marcos senna the forgotten hero. he keep things tidy between attacking and defence.
next is the average height. besides pique and another player most of spain player are short. compare to swiss player, they are so short. is swiss keep it tight at the back, spain as no player that can attack from aerial ball.
poor tactical on the part of spain.

Spain will beat chile because the south americans play attacking football too. And they will beat honduras. Well of course, the ball is round..and now with jabulani, the ball's even rounder :)
torres and villa were the 2 worst players on the night.
Is it me or that Iker Casillas also fared badly? ):
Spain and Arsenal are miles apart man! Barcelona and Spain would be better.
torres looked a little out of form. villa was almost non-existent. Can't disappear in big games like this.....u wun see the likes of maradona, zidane or klinnsmann disappearing just like that.
a lot of big names fail to perform.
drogba and ronaldo for example.
how i miss maradona and zidane.
i miss Figo
rooney too :)

swiss had barnetta too........dunno what senderos was doing tackling his own player and getting himself injured in the process...defend too much until confuse already...
too bad Ottmar Hitzfeld not coaching Germany, i rank him as the top brain in football........
Wenger is 3rd with Mourinho 4th............
of course i'm in 2nd place !
figo is portugal not spain la.
