It has been reported today that Chelsea have secured the signing today of the 17 year-old Czech Republic starlet, Tomas Kalas, from Sigma Olomou, but he has been variously reported as a centre-back or a goalkeeper!.
Sigma’s official website said: “A spell at a top European club for Tomas Kala was successfully arranged today,”
Kalas’ agent Pavel Zika told sport.cz: “We cannot confirm the club’s name yet.
“Negotiations were very difficult and I am glad they are behind us now, especially for the good of the player.”
Sky Sports report that both Chelsea and Arsenal were chasing the youngster, but Chelsea pipped the Gunners to his signature.
Their original report said that Kalas was a goalkeeper (which was then repeated by TribalFootball), but the article has since been amended to say that he is a centre-back!
They also report that the youngster will be loaned back to Signa for 12 months before coming over to London permanently.
