Arsène Wenger hopes to tie up a defensive signing before the end of the World Cup.
The Arsenal manager is out in South Africa commentating for French television but he is also working on bringing a player to Emirates Stadium. Speaking exclusively to Arsenal.com, the manager admitted a signing was not imminent. However he did expect to bring in a defender before the tournament ends on July 11.
"No, we are not close at the moment," said Wenger. "We are quiet. But there will be something happening before the end of the World Cup - certainly on the defensive side."arsenal.com
