Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar says Rafa Benitez has wrecked his old club.
The Anfield hero is fuming with Benitez for splashing out £248million and leaving the club in a mess – a “sinking ship”.
Grobbelaar said: “The Liverpool ship has been rocking because the person who left has spent £248m and look at the players we have got.
“As a Liverpool fan, I’m really sick that this has happened. He’s wasted money and then turns around and says you have to pay another £20m to get rid of him? I think that’s ludicrous.
“Why? Because he wanted his backroom staff to go with him. Well, he’s now got his backroom staff at Inter Milan. So cheerio. Bye-bye. And good luck. I’m very angry at what he’s done to my club.”
Grobbelaar, who made 440 appearances in 14 years at Anfield, is also unhappy about how Benitez conducted himself last season.
He said: “I’m angry when he stands up and says he can get fourth place. They should have fired him when that became mathematically impossible.
“He was that confident and that brash about what he could do. And when he doesn’t do it it’s a smack in the face.
“There’s a huge hole in the ship and we have to block that hole.”
Why present and past players keeps calling Liverpool a “sinking ship”... ?
If not rising submarine meh
Liverpool and the sin city is the same.
When you have a weak boss around and you dun want to remove him, he will leave with the money and keep all the shit behind.
No one is holding Ah Ben accountable for all his failures and there are some stupid fans who were backing him.
The liverpool management was too weak to remove him as they have no money to get any new manager.
The past players cannot make noise now as they have remained silent in the past two seasons.
At least Liverpool can start afresh with what is left.
No more players playing out of position any more.
i wont go to that extend to call fellow fans who supported rafael all e way, stupid, rather i will say that they are being way too emotional.
now as for liverpool, we need to see who's in for us next & if he can do a king kenny!
actually the one who ruined liverpool was graeme souness. when he took charge in 1991, he sold players like peter beardsley, steve mahon and steve staunton and bought rubbish like nigel clough, stewart, David James and many others.
but liverpool is a rubbish club,so they only attract rubbish players
Blame the higher-ups for not plugging the hole earlier?
Write Liverpool off if you will...... but Liverpool always perform better when their backs are up against the wall than when they wear the "favourites" tag.............
They will rise again one day.
