Azzurri legend Roberto Baggio is set to return to international football as part of the Italian Football Federation's overhaul following a woeful World Cup.
Reports in Italy suggest that Baggio, who retired in 2004, would take up the position of president of the FIGC's technical committee and would be responsible for player development.
And the 43-year-old's agent has confirmed Baggio will hold talks with federation president Giancarlo Abete in the upcoming days to thrash out the details.
"Roberto has decided to make himself available, it represents a great step forwards towards his return to the world of football," Vittorio Petrone told Sky Italia.
Baggio scored 27 goals in 56 appearances for Italy, and is the only Azzurri player ever to score in three World Cups. He led the Azzurri to the World Cup final in 1994, scoring five goals in the knockout stages, but infamously missed the final spot-kick in the penalty shootout against Brazil.
The playmaker enjoyed a glittering 22-year career with a number of clubs including both Milan teams, Juventus and Fiorentina.
