Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko has pleaded with the club to drop his £50million asking price and allow him to join Manchester City.
Steve McClaren's men slapped the hefty price tag on the forward, who his hit 56 goals in 94 games for the club, after a £35milion release clause expired last month.
However, the Bosnian international remains confident a deal can be struck with big spending City, who have already splashed out in excess of £50million this summer.
Dzeko said: "I want to clarify that it is not a matter of money, but of ambition. I feel I have to take a leap in quality and play for a big club."
"I have a wonderful relationship with the leaders of Wolfsburg and I'm sure they will fulfil my desire."

wtf????
leap in quality? pui! man city also not say a big club, UNLESS IF IT COMES TO FINANCIAL POWER.
city is getting there, like chelsea, once again city had shown that money can surely get you somewhere.
wtf dzeko farking money face
city were lucky to get the owners. they shown the world money can actually change a club.
from a man city that hardly could qualify for the euro cup spot, they have certainly did nearly achieve the champion league spot. thanks to money.
this season has made us see some great signings like toure and silva. but the price is too inflated in this market. their salary is also absurd.
