I am an avid fan of
American Football, more specifically College Football. I need help finding an EPL team to adopt.
I live in Athens Georgia (US), about 70 miles east of the Olympic City of Atlanta. My favorite College team is the University of Georgia (UGA) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Georgia) football team. The university is located in my home town of Athens. My second favorite team is the UGA baseball team. My third favorite team is the UGA basketball team,,,, and so on.
I am also follow the professional sports teams from Atlanta (Braves, Falcons, and Hawks), but without the same passion.
Like many American kids, I grew up playing soccer (football) in Florida, and was a fan of the Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL). Rodney Marsh was my favorite, and I did get to see Pele play. I am showing my age here, because it was during the 1970s.
As an adult I played some, and coached a lot (youth leagues), but never followed professional teams. Watching the World Cup this year has led me to try and find a team to follow. And why not just go ahead and find a team in the finest league, the English Premier League.
In this age of online video, and streaming audio, I should be able to follow almost any club weekly in the EPL. I am going to need help in choosing a team. What makes one club better than the other (fans, tradition, winning, colors, payroll, players, future, management, etc)? All of these things I think, that is why I am looking for help.
Let me know what makes your club the best and why I should follow them, and why I should not follow another team. Also let me know if you don’t want me to follow your club!
One club will have a slight head start on the others. Manchester City has scheduled a friendly with a Mexican club on July 28th, in Atlanta. I plan to attend.
Thanks for your help

Tottenham Hotspur is one ambitious club with lots of tradition on the up and up.
It has also scheduled some pre-season friendlies in the States. You may want to check out thee club's website for details.

Whaz a 'troll"??
Thanks for the replies! I was afraid I would not be taken seriously. I want all to know that I have done some research over the past month or so. I am not entering this completely without a clue, but close to without a clue! :o)
Poignant - passion for sure
Fenixx - I have done some research. Hotspur seams to be a club on the move
ASKL! - Manchester City is opening the wallet for sure. Sometimes teams will all SuperStars do not mix........ Manchester United - They are committed to winning. And a winning a tradition is important. I am not looking to have my heart broken every week. But, Manchester United is probably like the New York Yankees, love them or hate them. Am I right about that?,,,,,, I like the way Arsenal seems to go about spending money.
Poignant - I understand the Spanish League is tremendous, but I feel steered toward the EPL.... Does Liverpool have the most pasionate fans? That is really important. But isn't Liverpool upside down on spending? I looked at the charts for the last few years and they seem to be on a decline. Is this caused by their spending problems?
TTFU - Sorry not a troll
Death Guy- Bradly going to manage Fulham? Americans on the team would help.
Blueblack - Not a troll, thanks
At some point I would love to travel and see a home match. The environment of the game means a lot to me. When I go to my team's games here, it is an all day affair. Cooking out on the grill, hanging out with friends (all 92,000 of them!), talking about great previous victories, that kind of thing. I really appreciate the input. Thanks!
Support the Florida Gators!
Gators!!! noooooooo
newscastle united.
perhaps Man City
Just watch the matches then see which top side's football you like....
Gunner - did Newcastle get relagated, or did they make it back this year?
Bus&Soccer - I am going to see Man City play a friendly in Atlanta in 2 weeks. It will be the first proffesional match I have seen in over 30 years!
Y-Shun - Good idea on watching the matches. I have Dish Network, and will check their scheduling package
no best or worse fans around in this world imo, all down to personal. slowly take your pick, no rush
